The new pavilion for the Women and the Children, sited in Careggi (Italy), is a new and modern building for Obstetric and Gynaecological Clinics, Birth Point, Neonatal and IVF; it’s also a very important structure for the entire Tuscany.
The building has the Diagnostics and the Obstetric Emergency Room, with 15 clinics.
The “Birth Block” has 4 rooms for the Labour and the Birthing, 2 rooms for the Caesarean Section, the neonatal “isle” and the nursery.
The operating “Gynaecological Block” has 4 rooms.
The Neonatal Intensive Care has 36 cradles.
The Obstetric and Gynaecological department has 105 beds for the custodial care, in singular or double rooms.
The building (projected and directed by ATI, with the Prosecutor and the Labour Director-General of Binini Partners, with Altieri Studio and Casarosa-Restivo Studio) is transparent and welcoming. It is made by warm materials and bright colours. There are artworks and there is an inner “winter garden” for the families and the children.
The designers ask Scai Tech/Fausto Cattivelli Engineer for the executive project’s assistance, for the works supervision and for the control of the components’ quality about the facades and about the specification’s performances of the Visual and Performance samples. Moreover, for the dimensioning of the façade’s secondary works.
