Memoriale 14 August 2018 – Bioclimatic greenhouse
13 January 2025Studio Cattivelli is located in a building dating back to the early 1970s and was initially a building with a main core of traditional masonry. Over the years, it has undergone several modifications, including the expansion of the ground floor, the elevation of the original structure with curved glulam beam roofs, shaped glass pediments, and the creation of a large portico that connects the various building sections.
The renovation intervention, realized through various direct accesses between the office spaces, the portico, and the large surrounding green area, has contributed to creating a work environment integrated in a green and eco-sustainable context. At the same time, the optimization of engineering and architectural activities focused on the most modern technologies has been preserved through equipped offices, including Laserscan surveys, 3D and BIM design, use of models with digital prints, and advanced calculation programs.
The most recent building renovation intervention was developed in BIM (Building Information Modeling) as a tool that integrates all phases of a building's life cycle: from renovation design to construction, to management and maintenance. BIM offered a highly detailed three-dimensional digital vision of the project and a coding of each component with its geometric and performance properties.
The Revit software, used in a 3D environment, together with integrated applications, allows visualizing every single part of the project, producing technical drawings, creating renderings, and generating schedules, regarding both structures and windows, interior and exterior furnishings, and the green of the gardens as represented in some images attached to the article.
The reconstruction and renovation interventions include, in particular, the creation of parametric families for the specificity of shapes and material components such as, for example: shaped roof beams, portico, arched or trapezoidal-shaped windows and glass walls, custom doors, specially shaped stairs, and glass canopies; for such types, despite having a large archive of BIM objects available, it was necessary to generate ad hoc parametric families of new specific shapes that require more in-depth knowledge of such design techniques. The Tecnostruttura SCAI TECH BIM, has implemented for this purpose the use of parametric component techniques, used by its professionals certified as BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator, and BIM Specialist, with specialized skills in various levels of management, information modeling, and in the advanced use of Autodesk Revit Authoring software.
